I have everything working and I can see the messages sent from discord to my l4d2 game and also the other way around, what I would like to know is because when I mention someone with @ in l4d2, the discord bot does not mention anyone.

The underneath mentioning works like <@ID> and must be supplied that way, Discord client just shows you a facade of the actual raw content. So to ping the person, you need to supply it in that format and have simplemessage enabled as embeds cannot ping people either.

Start it normally instead of service, it will indicate error.

I dont know why but messages from gagged players still appear in Discord channel but not in-game.
I use MaterialAdmin (fork from older SB++) and it blocks messages using OnClientSayCommand.

I typed <@340527599602106370> in the L4D2 game chat and the answer in discord, it doesn't tag me to my discord ID.
I use SimpleMessage = true (config.toml)

Can you add a support to prevent bot connections?

I'll need to look into the mentioning, it's possible that I removed it during one commit as it was being abused and generally useless because it requires knowing the ID ahead of hand.

I understand your point and why you removed it, but is it possible that can add a type of protection to avoid excessive mentioning?
In addition, a file is needed where you can specify if you write, for example, @Tonblader in the game chat of left 4 dead 2, automatically transform it into <@340527599602106370> so that my discord name can be mentioned, I am satisfied that The file needs to be manually added to this setting.
