if the server sends a command to the client and the client has no routine to handle it it will ignore it.

sooo u need a plugin that will interperate the command and take the action if there is none the client will ignore it

Well,

Right now there are 2 bottlenecks.
1) making sure clients get this sort of OSD-program
2) executing this non-valve program from within a game on the client

The first one might be solved by including this in the release of our mod (www.bgmod.com). The second one, well, that will be very hard I presume.

If you're doing this for a mod, you should be able to code in a message system on the client side fairly easily.

I know, but so far the coders of this mod have a diffferent priority list then mine. Apart from the fact that it's far more efficient to make a solution which fits all HL2-mods in stead of just one.
