Yes you are right. Its called DesktopListView. Main reason why I prefer my icons to be sorted that way is because I hate my desktop view get clogged up by dozen of icons like in some screenshots some of you posted here :p I think its easier for me to find stuff im going to click when they are sorted along the desktop side like that
