You could make a plugin using Left4DHooks that modifies players max speed when running, walking and crouching to change depending on the weapon they are carrying.

Awhile back I found some old cvars that can change movement speed, but they are universal to everything and they effect camera movement in spectator mode.

sm_cvar z_sidespeed 136 // 450
sm_cvar z_backspeed 115 // 450
//sm_cvar z_forwardspeed 200 // 450

Those are from my config. That makes the survivors slow when backing up or moving side to side. I have the forward speed disabled with the slashes in front of the cvar, but when enabled, they also move much slower moving forward. The default speeds are the values behind the slashes.

I don't have much knowledge on making a plugin, could take some time to write it, @Silvers.

@Sev, as you mentioned they are universal, so despite the weapon equiped it would have that constant speed. My idea was to have editable movement speed with the weapon or melee equiped. This plugin seems to have an option for "MaxPlayerSpeed" but does not seem to have any change in speeds

This plugin will make custom melee weapon HUD and sound get replaced by default vanilla melee weapon, also make their animation end quicker when swing, any possible way to fix this ?

For example: I was playing on Death Mountain campaign, grab a Giant Hammer and it become a frying pan but still keep the Giant Hammer viewmodel itself, sound and HUD icon also get replaced by frying pan.

Can you show the config you're using and explain what you did to test. I don't see how this plugin would change them like that.

I haven't changed anything, just got this plugin installed and that problem suddenly occur, remove this plugin seem to solve the problem though, by far this is the only plugin after i removed then thing will be normal.

Custom melee is on client or server or both? Does it use a different melee weapon name or are you replacing an existing one? If new then you would have add/replace one of the existing ones with the new in the plugins config.

Also for future reference its better to paste config stuff like that within CODE quotes.
