So i just looked through gametracker (https://www.gametracker.com/search/?query=knife) [or just plain through browse community servers ingame] and there are plenty of servers using blacklisted plugins, how come they arent banned while some smaller servers got banned?

The fact that they may have "knife" in their name and/or tags doesn't mean that they actually run these plugins.

Did you actually join and verify that any of them provided this functionality before throwing rocks at them?



^ Maybe use "misrepresenting player inventories" if they do really have these kind of plugins you're talking about?

yeah i did join few 1v1 arenas and they were running functioning knife plugin ("SM Knifes" (1.1) by Franc1sco franug) and functioning ws plugin ("SM CS:GO Weapon Paints" (2.8.2 public version) by Franc1sco franug [although it said 2.5 in menu])

I'm pretty sure those bans are in 'waves', so they can have knife & ws for couple of months and then just use another account when they get banned.

LoL im running in all my 10 servers with different names and cvars... ;)

just edit the .sp files with different name, creator and etc all good so far.

lol you do realize a valve employe can just come on the server and check themselves to see if the server is running this type of plugin or not? But, that's only if Valve were to actually do those things, which I highly doubt.

I'm sure Valve will -eventually- implement a more sophisticated detection system that bans at much shorter intervals. As of right now, people just get banned and make new tokens in 5 minutes.

Bans aren't currently being issued. I'm not sure if they were ever automatic after they were enabled, or if it is intentionally being done in waves.

However, servers with these plugins are still being detected and automatically reported. I'm sure they will get what's coming.
