I bet Some one would say that they were god's creation which didn't work out right.

If plants didn't evolve, but were just there as the result of the big bang (or, whatever), then why couldn't creatures have been created then, along with the plants?

I'm not trying to attack evolution or defend anything else, I've just wondered this question for a while.

Ribbit!
Not to defend evolution cause I'm a Catholic , But I think plant would evolve also, they are after all Living . They feed , off of light and water and minerals , they breath c02. And they expend them to oxygen. So wouldn't plants be considered living creatures ? There not necessarily smart , or mammals but still considered living creatures

Fossils have been dated millions upon millions of years back, however humans fossils (or human like fossils) havent been around nearly as long, meaning the 7 day "idea" is rubbish.

Of course, it could also be interpreted as "fossils have been found which show evolution in action, species changing over time."

Back on the dating of the fossils thing, Liberty University (founded by the ultra conservative, fundamentalist nut-job Jerry Falwell) has supposedly placed dinosaur fossils in its museum and dated them as between 3,000-4,000 years old. I think Richard Dawkins said it best in his speech at some college earlier this year (I watched it on CSPAN), heres a clip of the fossil part. Note that (to be fair with my comparison to Falwell) hes a right winged atheist nut-job.

Check this action jackson.

Plants came 1st. but they weren't vegetion at the time, they were just a few little tiny cells that processed CO2(carbon dioxide) into O2(oxygen). And as time moved on, you started to get cells that would process the oxygen and other materials(maybe generic plant matter). So going from there you started getting your animals and your plants. now plants are plants, but the animals would have split into mamals + birds and fish as well as reptiles dinosaure ancestors and other little critters. So then, as you all know, the dinosaurse died, unknown or un-proven as all of this thread is - lack of heat from a sun black out from a giant meteor. but some smaller reptiles and mamals survided. and ta da, now you have your mamals and reptiles again. now people who say we evolved from monkeys are idiots, monkeys and homo-erectus evolved concurrently from a common ancestor. This goes for the same as most or all for that matter animals and other little creatures present day.

and yes plants did evolve, just not the same as animals.

The bottom line: Our ancestors may have been Martians.

Life on Earth could have come from somewhere else, part of
a broader theory called panspermia.
Maybe we/plants/all Organisms were just deposited here from an asteroid.
Maybe I had 1 too many Baileys

Earth formed about 4.5 billion years ago. No one knows exactly when or how life began, and the final, most important events leading to the origin of life are perhaps the least understood chapters of the story.
