Also does anyone know how you can add custom skyboxes to this thing?
I made the files, but I am not able to download it via fastdl. No there are no particles, but if I put my VPK is my client custom folder, particles work since I have the files. I think this error was noted on one of the beginning pages.

Yeah I don't know exactly how the fuck this works, because it took a shit on me just now, and then suddenly it decided to work again.

Using a brand new server install, I:

- Installed all the necessary server files
- Hauled all the necessary files to fastdl
- Edited pure_server_whitelist.txt to whatever it said in the file
- Launched the server

Then I went into pl_badwater with the mode set to winter, and not surprisingly, the particles broke with the console spamming particle crap. (The server downloaded files to my client; I had the /tf/downloads folder opened on a second monitor.)

Then I changed it to cp_badlands, and the plugin set the theme to be summer (randomly). No particles there.

Then I manually set the theme to be autumn, and changed back to pl_badwater. The fall leaf particles appeared everywhere like they should.

Then I manually changed it to winter, and the snowflakes also appeared (which they didn't previously).

So... I have no idea how this thing works with regards to having particle effects working. As a wild guess, it seems like loading it onto a map with no particles first and then loading it to a map with particles works?

The skybox works perfectly fine 100% of the time, but the particles are annoying to get to work. It's not too big of a deal if it doesn't work, I guess, but it's still nice to have the full package.

Why is this still in the unapproved section when it works perfectly fine? Hell, my friends love this plugin more than any of the plugins that are "approved" that I have installed (other than tf2items/tf2attributes). I even outlined instructions above on how to get it to work, and particles also work fine.

Bumping this in the chance that someone might find this golden plugin, since I only came across this thing when someone bumped this thread. The fireflies theme is our top favorite, next to dusk.

Is anyone ever gonna overhaul this plugin? :< I know for sure that it's not broken, but could be improved.

The biggest problem is that every map has to include the custom particles by that text file that can't be changed and it's awful, when you enter the map you have 499 errors because of this.

I tried using normal tf2 particles but besides snow and rain there isn't that many weather particles.

I also found a way to send the theme to just one client, creating temporal entities, so it would be possible to be disabled by a preference by clients.

As soon as we found a way to add particle to a map without using the mapname.txt file, I'll update and remake this plugin.

Maybe use stripper: source or something to force custom particle loading? If that's possible entity-wise, that is.

That's a subject I'd have to ask a mapper or go to TF2Maps for.

Particles won't show up unless they were previously precached and added to the map, the worst part is that there are other source games that actually allow dynamically do this like L4D2
