Bump from hell, but is there a chance this could be updated to support getting the length of a song or sound that's inside a VPK or the SteamPipe folders?

This extension won't open files if it has pakrat to .bsp
However GetSoundDuration is working for them.
of course we shouldn't use GetSoundDuration already now.

Someone have an idea for detecting pakratted files?

Why dont you just make your plugin get the file length from a source you manually enter?
This extension is useless imo, as you need to host sound files on fastdl, so their stats will remain the same.

I need this function for stopmusic plugin of my modified advanced edition.
Well, GetSoundDuration is seems working fine in CS:GO without issue.

I planning edit this extension for worked with files inside the steam file system.

Yes, this would be very helpful for music management plugin. Without the file duration function we would need to manually configure setting for each map...
