I have the problem that this command does not work:

sm_saysoundhe_download_threshold "1"

so most of the people who join my server keep on disconnecting because I have many sounds. What can I do about that?

I have mine set to -1 and no problems here. From what I understand of that cvar it restricts the amount of sound files they can download to 1 (not sure how that would be of any use to anyone). Give setting it to -1 a try and see if it helps?

No that didn`t help me. Since I have many sounds I want people who join the server to download only one of them each time they join. The comment in that cfg file says that "-1" means unlimited, so all sounds are downloaded. Now if I change that value to any other, it doesn`t have any effect. any ideas?

You say they are disconnected, what reason is their disconnect message giving them? I don't think having missing sound files would cause folks to disconnect from the server tbh.

I think you misunderstood me: I have many sounds on my server, people who join download them all at once, since they don`t want to wait that long, they just disconnect before spawning on the server. (Disconnect by user). So I want everyone who joins my server to download only one soundfile per join.
I tried it myself, deleted all my soundfiles and connected, and I was downloading all soundfiles, which really takes a lot of time.

Ah I see. Welp, I'm not sure if that's how the threshold cvar works since it's description is sort of lacking.

So I guess I put the wrong question...Is there a command which can limit the number of sounds downloaded by clients when they join?

I wish there was a way to combine params so I can do different sounds for crit rocket kills and crit sticky kills etc.
