I rent a 1.6 server, and I was recommended to set pingboost to 3 and ticrate to 10 000.
This took them a few weeks to add to launch options, and now that they have I actually read about it, which I regret not doing earlier.
The server is running on linux, here are some information from the provider: (roughly translated)
Our servers are directly connected via a 1 Gbps port against Admax Core at 40Gbit, which is then connected to Portlane Backbone with over 200Gbps capacity together with a redundant connection to Glesys.
I have no idea what this means and if its good or not..
When I use these settings (pingboost 3 and ticrate 10000)
I have around 8000 fps, but its unstable going from 6000 to 8000.
Can someone explain to me, because I don't understand why you would want so much fps when the game can only handle 1000 fps?
Is it because it goes down when players join?
What settings should I use? should I turn up the ticrate when server is full to make sure it goes as high as possible without going over 1000?
I live in Sweden and everyone has atleast 100mbit/s here.
Current settings:
rate 100000
maxupdaterate 100000
minupdaterate 80000
pingboost 3
fps_max 100 (still shows more when i type stats)
sys_ticrate 10000
