Reply With Quote #1

Hello everybody,

I'm new here (and to running/modding 1.6 servers in general), and I would greatly appreciate some help in getting my CS 1.6 dedicated server running the plugins I want it to have.

I am aiming to have my server run Bailopan CSDM 2.1.1 and a bot plugin, be it PODbots, YaPB, or similar.

The server is being hosted by PingPerfect, and I have been in contact with their customer support staff who have been very helpful.

The server is running on the steam_legacy build of CS 1.6, as the 25th anniversary patch unfortunately breaks most plugins. The server has AMX Mod X 1.8.2 and the latest version of MetaMod.

I successfully got Bailopan CSDM 2.1.1 running on the server, but all of my attempts to add bots have caused the server to crash shortly after joining. I have had this issue with PODbots 3.0 as well as the latest version of YaPB (from their GitHub).

I don’t know why this is happening, and I’m hoping that some of you could assist.

Thank you!

1. I think you have the #9*** build. Use AmxModX 1.9, not 1.8.2.
2. Yapb is for rehlds, not hlds.
3. I recommend you to use this version of csdm: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=47306

I'm not sure what is meant by "#9***" build. Also, the YaPB documentation only mentions HLDS and not ReHLDS, so I'm not sure what you mean there.

I'm not sure updating the AMX Mod X would really do anything, since I got CSDM running, and I also had this same issue of the server crashing with PODbots 3.0, which is older than AMX X 1.8.2.

I tried running CSDM 2.1.2 at first but for some reason the weapon menu wouldn't show up. One of PingPerfect's support guys also used KWO's version but had the same issue. 2.1.1 is the only one that works for some reason.

The server is running Metamod 1.2.0, which is the latest version from the metamod.org website. I wasn't aware that there were newer versions on GitHub, and that there are different versions for HLDS / ReHLDS.

Though, I don't think that a newer Metamod would do much seeing as how the PODbots plugin is older than Metamod 1.2.0.

it has been difficult to find a working method to get bots working on linux. i have had the opportunity to get it working through a Condition zero method on cs 1.6 for windows. but i dont find any working download pages that share the linux version so we can get bots working on paid servers. (podbot or whichever bot )

For me working fine yapB and https://metamod-p.sourceforge.net/ and latest reHLDS

https://ibb.co/wLGkykm

Code:
"yb_version" is "4.5.1095"
1.9 he means AMX Mod X 1.9 https://www.amxmodx.org/downloads-new.php

IM also using all the Condition Zero maps on CS1.6 server with _detail textures and r_detailtextures to 1 wich is hard to achive without hard modifying the .RES files, and could crash my sevrer, but it does not.

Don't use CSDM with reHLDS use reDeathmatch or reCSDM. but also be sure to have reGameDLL.
