Each api key has a maximum number of requests in a certain amount of time (idk what that time is or the number), but once its gone, its gone until that time period resets.

This is not an issue with the plugin, instead it is an issue with the grooveshark plugin itself.

I am thinking of making a cache type site which caches these results for a set time (probably 24 or 48 hours), with no api key required (i will handle that with the backend of the site), and i will also release a plugin for it once completed. This should eliminate the issues people are having with api keys etc.

I'm not necessarily saying that you're wrong, but it also could be due to the fact that recently grooveshark updated the way it works/looks. Typing !gs into the game will bring up the !motd and show grooveshark with a warning at the top saying its outdated. Maybe the API key isn't the problem and its grooveshark?

The plugin on my server seems to be working fine still. Had it on for about two weeks now.

Any chance to modify this plugin to search music from another website? like Spotify , Goear or any other? there aren't as good as Grooveshark but they are good too, especially Goear.

Yeah but unfortunately, this plugin relies on TinySong (which gets redirected to grooveshark.com) to work, w/o that, we're SOL :/
