I thought so. So... Why have a dual-core or quard-core as a cs server CPU? If you can't even use the second or the last 3 cores. Overkill in my world.

joropito's CPUs looks fine for a cs server...

Assign 1 server to a core, so then you can run as many servers as you have cores.

Another advantage of having more than one core is that background processes (e.g. FTP, mail, antivirus, etc.) won't have to interrupt the core that's used by the game server.

Does servers actually use antivirus? lol. Maybe a windows box.... But with linux superuser system, and a good firewall is more than enough.

If you are allowing remote people to upload anything to the box, an antivirus is always suggested, regardless of the server os (no os is virus free). If only you have access to the box, then you can probably get away with no antivirus.

Why the difference? And how about, for instance, a Linux mail server that drops infected attachments? It all depends on what you use the server for. What Yami said.

I see. But I have never seen two servers running on one computer.

But that issue with the fps, where you have to open media player to get more fps. It has to be the same core as the dedicated server?

Also, how do you plan on running more than one dedicated server on a computer?

When you rent a server, do you honestly believe there is only your server running on that box? If your answer is yes, man you're dumb...
