So, I installed SteamTools on my Synergy Server, but it does not load!

I do this:

sm exts load steamtools
[SM] Loaded extension steamtools.ext.dll successfully

The Error:

sm exts list
[15] <FAILED> file "steamtools.ext.dll": Could not find interface: VEngineServer022

Is there a fix for this?

It loaded fine on SM 1.6.2

EDIT: Synergy is a Source 2009 (TF2 Engine) game.
EDIT2: Downgrading back to SM 1.6.2 loads SteamTools, does it have to do with this?

It works on any game that uses the Source 2009 engine, TF2 in this case uses the Source 2009 engine. Synergy uses Source 2009.

The idiot who posted about CS:GO didn't know that CS:GO did't use Source 2009. CS:GO uses the "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive engine branch" of Source.

I know for a fact that asherkin also pastes that EXACT quote on threads that ask for support for steamtools on games OTHER then tf2.

It might work, but it is not supported here as the mod only officially supports TF2

There is no such thing as Source 2009 any more, the 4 games that used it got split into distinct engine branches (TF2, HL2:DM, CS:S, and DoD:S), and then a SDK was forked off of as well to become SDK 2013 (which is what Synergy uses as of a recent update). All those branches have continued development separately and SteamTools only follows TF2, thus Synergy is indeed not supported. That said, based on the thread you linked and the fact it loads with 1.6.2, your error is almost certainly down to a SourceMod issue and nothing to do with SteamTools. I also suggest not calling people idiots when you're incorrect (or ever, really).

So is there any way to use [ANY] SteamTools Game Description Override without SteamTools, like use the SteamWorks extension instead?
