As the topic says, can anyone please help me with slots? I'm a complete noob when it comes to server configurations etc .

Download speed : 512kbps .

Upload speed : 430kbps .

CPS spec :

1 GB of Ram .
Intel Pentium(R) D CPU 2.81 Ghz.

Anyone? Please?

Damn that's not really a lot. I'm only willing to host a 2v2 on that one.

I'm able to host 5v5 (10players) quite easily. ;)

It lags a little if increase it to 12, can anyone tell me what rates should i set?

So that i can have 12 players w/o lag?

Man you can't hold no one to your server.
The PC is quite good, but the internet is the problem: it's too low! u need a faster internet connection.
Don't try to bring people to your server because they will have lag and won't stay, and even you will have lag!
I have 3,5 mbps upload and 12 download and i'm having trouble with lag when more players are on the server. And I won't say what's on the server when it's weekend and the internet connection is

If your upload sticks with actual 512Kbps and it's purely dedicated you'll be able to host a 5x5 or 4x4 normally with low rates and not many plugins that needs extra badwidth.

However, if its not dedicated, you might run into problems, especially that, 512kbps of download is not that hard to max out by a couple of downloads and it will also cause lag.

Make sure you got a nice firewall/router because it will be VERY easy to bring your server down, (Attackers do love weak servers)

I would do 4x4 with 2 reserved slots. Minimal plugins, perhaps only for administration.

If you manage to get at least 2MB upload, that machine alone can hold up to 32 players if dedicated.

Rates (as per Drek's formula) you should set for 10 players:
sv_minrate 0
sv_maxrate 5113
sv_minupdaterate 4
sv_maxupdaterate 17

If you use resource(bandwidth) hungry plugins then its highly recommended to reduce slots to 8 players & use below said rates:
Rates for 8 players:
sv_minrate 0
sv_maxrate 6391
sv_minupdaterate 4
sv_maxupdaterate 21

Still if u wanna try with 12 slots then use ONLY base plugins which comes with AMXX or else completely disable AMXX itself & then use below given RATES:
Rates for 12 Players:
sv_minrate 0
sv_maxrate 4260
sv_minupdaterate 4
sv_maxupdaterate 14

Best of Luck...
