hi, i run an hlds dedicated server and it lags my ping use 2 b 7-20 and now its 20-68 and i did the tweaks that i found on this site but i dont think it worked. what shud i set my sys_ticrate at? and my rate. and is there anyting i could do 2 stop the lagg and highg ping 4 me and my players?

If you are running dedicated server, and you are currently on some web site's your ping will be always high, or if you are downloading something from internet it will cause your ping higher.

Also turn your firewall off it might block some internet connection.

One thing you can do is this:

1. Open task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del)
2. Click the "Processes" tab
3. Rightclick on "hlds.exe"
4. Set priority to "High"

it posted twice for somereason so im sorry about that. i dont run nothing when i run my server. i set the priority 2 high but i noteiced that my cpu gets really high but it still lags. this post shudnt have been posted the other 1 was the one 2 b posted it has more info.i dont know how 2 got posted? sp sorry to the admin 4 posting it twice somehow.
