I don't know if it's just me or the recent update sorta fixed Zoey character from crashing on Windows?

Confirmed, I use Merudo's CSM with l4d_scs_zoey "1" and without Real Zoey Unlock, Zoey can now works just fine.

I just checked the binaries again and looks like they increased the array sizes of one member variable to be able to hold 8 survivor indexes now instead of 4. That would explain why Zoey doesn't crash anymore. Her problem before won't be carried out to other L4D1 survivors from the looks of it so we don't have to worry about Francis and Louis inheriting that crash from now on.

Only took them what like 13 years to fix that issue...between first Bill and then Zoey. I suppose maybe its a bone to the sourcemod community?

so the plugin doesn't work anymore, but I used this solution because changing chars in the CSM causes the director to freak out and spawn many more zombies. Has that been fixed?
