Middle mouse button closes the tab already.

I'm not sure why do you use non-standardized key combinations. Double click on tab - is a wide spread shortcut in most editors. Middle button - is not intuitive and not memorable.

I dont think this should be a main feature. However, you could port it as a BasicPawn plugin using C# or VB.NET
