It was running fine for me. I added two things:

1) Different notification.
2) Uses OnPlayerRunCmd for better efficiency.

Was also thinking of making it so you can only spawn when you're on the ground, but I figured I'd run it by you first.

Yep, working on it, will test tonight. Just wanted to make sure there weren't any bugs needing fixing.



Mid-air spawning:
Mid aire spawning is a valid tactic regardless of whether this plugin is installed or not so I don't think that restriction should be included in this plugin. If you want to restrict mid-air spawning that should be its own plugin.

I find your version can be a bit laggy madcap, foxy seems to have smoothed it out a great deal.

interesting video you posted - in that it has been reposted with l4d2 in the title, even though it has nothing to do with l4d2. it also shows off an "exploit" that people are asking you to fix with your plugin.

i first saw that video when rocket boomers were all the rage. you could run and jump as a ghost with the increased speed, then spawn midair and retain the increased speed to dive on an unsuspecting group before they can react.

...and then valve patched the game (ie: its an exploit) to stop rocket boomers. you can still spawn midair, but you lose the speed boost of being a ghost.

your plugin allows rocket booming again, which is why people are asking for the ground requirement. you dont need to require touching the ground, but someone under the effects of the jetpack shouldnt be allowed to spawn with the speed boost effect. ground requirement is just a "simple" solution.

Ok, so when people said they didn't want mid-air spawning what they really meant is they wanted infected to lose velocity when they spawn in. This makes much more sense.

I can't say it bothers me much either way, we all laugh when people get boomered what ever team everyone is on lol

I'm guessing you guys have the speed turned up for ghost flying? Cos I can't seem to get enough speed to rocket boomer anyway O_O

I agree that mid-air spawning is valid, but not to the extent that flying allows. I'd say making it an option that by default is off would be a good way to go.

I think that's a good way to do it actually! Addresses the rocket boomer issue without disabling mid-air spawning.

Posted an update on the front page that now uses OnPlayerRunCmd. Still haven't implemented the disabling of rocket spawning.
