I just had a thought to while messing around with VPN. I read on the steam website that cs 1.5 over the internet will no longer be availible because there will be no more WON servers for authentication, but on a lan it will still be playable.

So I'm wondering if someone setup on their server VPN server service and ran a cs 1.5 server under lan mode, not internet mode, if that would work over the internet. While the client computer has a VPN connection to this server that runs a VPN server service. I think it would work. But i can't test out this theory yet until i get my copy of server 2003.

What does everyone else think about this?

Not VPN to the service offending Server, but to the Network, the Server is in.
You need at least 2 Servers
1 handling CS
1 Handling VPN connections
Both have to be in the same Network

i posted this only to answer a question for those who will battle for keeping won alive... some peop cant let go, i do not care about won and never did
won is obsolete now.
