Coding refers to giving instructions that a computer will follow, scripting is higher level and doesn't give direct instructions for the computer to follow. I believe in this case; AMXModX plugins are used by AMXModX and Metamod, and not directly by the computer.

If I am wrong I will be corrected very quickly by someone else, probably in the form of a flame or ass-hat remark. It is customary on this forum to prove you have the biggest e-penis by flaming others when they make mistakes

Code is short for source code. Anything that's compiled (whether to machine code or bytecode) has source code. Someone who writes code is a coder.

This may or may not be a subjective opinion (think scripting vs programming), but I assume your stance is a minority one and in any case it would mean you shouldn't correct others. You are also saying by implication that .NET and Java programmers don't have the right to call themselves coders.

So I was almost there. Scripting is an interpreted bytecode language that is a set of instructions that another application/program uses.

I understand what you are saying Lee but I left it to be assumed that code in C# and Java, since it is interpreted by Framework and JVM (or mono), that it would be considered direct machine code.

"code" is any "source-code" that is compiled into a lower level language, which PAWN is.

I would have to say that writing a plugin is coding, because you compile it, unlike javascript or php or actionscript.
