I managed this today for some private 6v6 CS2 play with mates.

Built it inside a CSGO docker container with the SDK64 and customised start scripts.

basically executes:
game/bin/linuxsteamrt64/cs2 -dedicated -usercon +game_type 0 +game_mode 1 +map de_inferno -dev +sv_setsteamaccount

how to set a mapgroup as you cannt change / vote maps in game cause mapgroup is empty.
Also, cannot manage to remotely do rcon on dedicated cs2 hosting. any info how to access it? just typing rcon_password xxxx doesnt do anything

You need to do rcon_address <ip> followed by rcon_password <password> and test it is working with rcon status.
AFAIK the rcon commands only work when you aren't in the game, some weird bug I've heard people talking about.
I haven't done any work on the map groups, apart from copying over the sample game modes text file, but there are supposed to be configurations that I just haven't looked at yet (only got this working last night before playing for several hours, then slept)

I have very minor configs set in the server.cfg (i think) for host name and rcon password.
