These days anyone can add any server in site like Gametracker. We cant stop people to add server IPs there, but is there any way that server refuses reply to those web queries made by Gametracker or similar sites.

I have seen several servers using some module which blocks server variable query.

You should be able to do it with a module, but you might also end up blocking the Master Server queries as well

The module will block server cvar query only or something else ?. Do you remmeber then module name

I have not seen such a module. One would have to create a module that would hook the A2S_* queries and block the appropriate ones

HLDS uses the same port and protocol to query and have clients join

FYI, If you block A2S packets, no one will be able to see your server information in their server favorites/details.

Find out what ip the gametracker bot uses to query you server with, and drop those packets.
You don't close the port. You can use iptables on linux, or firewall on windows.
I have no idea what it is, but I would guess you could find out by capturing traffic to your box and then requesting to register your server~ with gametracker so the bit tries to query your server right away...

As for all you other smart guys replying about the ports...

^^ Definitely a good idea. Need to check whether Gametracker uses static ip or not.
