Hello, everybody.

I know CSDM 2.1.3d is a beta, but I used to play with it on my server. In fact, it was the only one that ever worked. All the rest didn't load correctly. I then reinstalled my computer, installed Counter-Strike 1.6 with AMXX and CSDM, but guess what? The moment I choose a team and skin, the game simply crashes (or quits) to desktop, as if someone typed "quit" in the console. No messages, nothing. Ever AMXX's log doesn't have anything helpful in it. I googled for hours and nothing. Is there any way to fix it?

P.S: I'm using "PsychoTraining's CS 1.6 Clean Edition", a.k.a. patch v43, although I doubt that's the case.

Well, I know that the people, who release those "patches" like to screw with the game, modifying it to their liking, but I thought a "clean" edition would be...clean of such modifications. I tried to find a really non-modified version, but I couldn't.
Is there a place, where I could find a CLEAN installation of CS 1.6? A list of the official patches would also be appreciated.

P.S.: I'll try SteamCMD.

Edit: Tried SteamCMD. Downloaded and validated everything through it. Now I get the following 2 errors:
"The procedure entry point _AIL_set_stream_volume@8 could not be located in the dynamic link library mss32.dll" followed by "Could not load hw.dll. Please try again at a later time."

Well if you downloaded your server via SteamCMD it should work.

Edit: Did you try to run the server you downloaded via SteamCMD before installing amxx or metamod?

Does copying hl.exe to the directory, where the downloaded files are, and running it count? It gave me the hw.dll error only.

If you follow the guide properly then you don't need to copy anything. All that you are required to do is use hlds.exe and start the server.

I did. Launching hlds.exe also leads to a crash, sooner or later. And I can't enter the game - "This command is not available to you at this time" and the camera stays at the predefined view points, even though I can look around. Plus, how am I supposed to play Counter-Strike myself if I use only the downloaded files? It's not a good idea to install a separate Counter-Strike on my small 250GB HDD. I think I should test it on another PC to see if it's gonna work.

It seems that you are installing CSDM in your local game, then you should know:

• No-Steam is not supported here (did you read the rules ?).
• That CSDM version is updated and does not support outdated games.
