CSDM 2.3d beta crashes Counter-Strike to desktop - Page 2

Hmm... It looks as if non-steam versions won't work. What if I install Steam and download HLDS from there? Would it work that way?

P.S.: I'm aware that forums like Alliedmodders don't discuss non-steam versions, because they're illegal.

I've installed KWo's versions (Client and server) and had no problems.

Client and Server? I thought CSDM is a package of plugins for AMXX... Or at least they were... Post a link maybe?

Yes, the client is also called listen server (local game). You can install AMXX to make tests play with bots and even friends.
HLDS is the stand-alone server

Downloaded and updated Steam. Downloaded Half-Life Dedicated Server through it, then copy-pasted the hl.exe and hlds.exe from the non-steam version, because Steam didn't download them. Now I get the following error:
"Unable to load engine, image is corrupt."

Edit: Validation of the game cache didn't find any errors.
Edit 2: Copy-pasting the Steam files over the ones of the non-steam version gives me another error: "Failed to initialize authentication system. Exiting..."
Edit 2.1: HLDS.exe works flawlessly without CSDM installed.

If Steamcmd is still bugged, retry and retry to download the full server, do not use or advertise the use of a Frankenstein server please.

SteamCMD won't download anything else and the .exe files are still missing.
