Can someone please tell me how to change the color of the text in the chat area? Would like to change it to green and get away from the standard yellow that is there now. I have looked at the mani admin adverts script, but that is for something different and it does not change the color of the text when players type something to other players.

Well.... that was interesting, but I don't think that is what I need to do to change the text colors. There should be another way that is already in the program without downloading another mod to make it work. Does ANYONE else know the answer to my question?

There is, it's called editing the source code and forcing the values you want yourself. Installing that plugin or another one that preforms a similar function will be far easier.

O.K. I downloaded that plugin. Is it self extracting and will install itself in the proper folder or folders?? Or.... do I need to manually do it?

You need to have sourcemod installed and follow the installation instructions provided by the link. i.e. the .smx goes in /sourcemod/plugins and the .cfg goes in /sorucemod/config

I already have source mod on the server. So the rest should be easy enough .... right??

Define "easy". I've seen many people mess up the easiest things.

Will the simple chat colors work on my Half-Life 2 Deathmatch server? Or is it only for counter strike and others?

Simple Chat Colors uses the colors.inc utility file by exvel. Open this topic and scroll down to the colorful table to see what's supported:

Before you ask, that table is merely what is supported by valve for the common colors. We can't add more.
