how is php not used for web design?

You design a website and use php in it, its web design is it not?

If you make a form and want to call that information back to the user in a php script and then design your page that is not web design?

Then I guess you need to talk to these community colleges and unvi. of washington about their classes and how php isnt web design.

please dont get the content of website and web-site itself confused.
web-design is when you make website which u most likely use HTML,CSS, and Javascript for. main word in there is *DESIGN*. You dont design with PHP hope you knew that.

Pascal could do the job far better than Smal could,

Unfortunately there are no open source, VM/embeddable pascal interpreters.

PHP is biased towards web development, it's difficult and inefficient to embed in an environment like a game server.

I'm not talking about the language, I'm talking about the annoying Zend engine which powers the implementation everyone uses.

Small needs to die. Let me repeat that for those in the back. Small needs to die. It has no structs, no pointers, switch's cases is not drop through, and this is just from their feature list. Small needs to die. With C++ being the default language in SourceMod, there will be plenty of excellent examples of creating plugins in it, and I believe many non-core plugins will be written in C/C++. Small needs to die.

Small needs to die. I, personally, would prefer perl. It's a well-known language, with many many lines of example code on the Internet. It has a very complete library in CPAN. I understand there are technical difficulties to implementing it, but this would be my ideal solution. Small needs to die. I accept the Javascript solution, however.

ok so wait a minute, when u say plugins written in c++ do you mean modules like amxx or plugins like the plugins written in small?

B/c if we're going to be writing PLUGINS in C++ as a default language, then I would change my vote to javascript (from small)

Welcome to the future, Pimp Daddy. There is no more distinction between plugins and modules. It's all the same now. All the languages are on an equal footing, with MetaEng. Plugins/Modules/Things written in any language can call natives in any other language. The future is here, and it is glorious!
