Hi

I know theres a lot of threads in here about the subject... i have looked through a lot of them without getting an answer for my problem.

My problem is (as many of you might have guessed already) that when i start the server it rewrites my gameinfo.txt file, so the line that enables mm is deleted.

It is a source dedicated server that i am using.

YES i am sure that i have extracted the files to the right path and i have tried to set the file to unwriteable (or what it is called in english(i am from denmark, so i dont know what it is called in an english OS))

When i set it to unwritable my server just wont start. i have tried something with a .bat file but it didn't seem to work

You should use the hldsupdatetool and install a dedicated server that doesn't use Steam instead of going through the steam menu.

I have done what you told me to do but another problem appeared now... it is not rewriting it anymore but when i have added the line:

GameBin |gameinfo_path|addons/metamod/bin

in the gameinfo.txt and start the server it shows an error and the server shuts down. My OS is in danish so i don't know what the error message would be in english

Make sure you have the latest version of mms from sourcemm.net. Also, put a ; in front of any lines in your metaplugins.ini file to comment them out and make sure the problem is with your mms setup and not a plugin.
