Reply With Quote #1

Hi, guys.
I have some problem with hlds, try to solve but can't. May be there is people, who saw and solved same one.

To business: all weapons have different hitbox ("spray"), and glock's one is the least accurate. So this problem is more visible at this weapon.

By the way, rates on the server provide players to set best rates (25000/101/101). Operation System of the server computer is Windows 2008. Hardware is good.

So, when i just start my hlds, hitbox of glock18 (if shoot as fast as possible) looks like:

But after around 1 hour glock's hitbox become awesome! See there:

*If you don't see photo, sorry, i don't know .com photohosts, tell me and i'll reshare it.*

I just want to know, why it's happening and how to fix it that hitbox of glock18 (so and other weapons) will be awesome (screen #2) always.

Thanks.

cl_lw on?

Because that could be the problem.

cl_lc "1"
cl_lw "1"

On the server:
sv_unlag "1"
sv_maxunlag "0.5"
sv_unlagsamles "1"

Sake, which one hitbox you have on your server? 1st one, or 2nd? Always?

Also I tested 2th hitbox - it just seems like good accuracy but players get damage like on 1st hitbox.
So, when I set 'cl_lw' cvar to "0", 3th type of glock's hitbox appear:

And this hitbox same at two situations (when 1st & 2th hitbox), but it's "grid" hitbox, no players, who use 'cl_lw 0', i think.
I have no ideas, hitbox lie, how to fix? ))

There is a plugin for AMXX that lets you configure recoil for all weapons see the link below:

Best Regards!

First of all, what you are talking about is hit detection, not hitbox. The hitbox are the players themself.

Second, cl_lw 1 will let the client generate the shells. The problem with this is that the engine is not accurate at all when generating them, and they will just land just about where they feel like.
cl_lw 0 will tell the server to report back to you where your shots are really hitting. Yes, they are 100% accurate!
The problem with using cl_lw 0 is that it turns off lag compensation too, so don't use it unless you have under 5ms, I would still not use it even then since the hitbox will be slightly off.

Assuming that those picture were taken with cl_lw 0, then your server is just really bad and you should reconfigure everything and run benchmarks on it to ensure its stability under load.
If you used cl_lw 1, then everything is probably fine and you shouldn't stress the issue anymore.

Have a nice day

Conerning your 3rd picture. It's a completely normal spraypattern.

If you are "thinking" that you aren't hitting with the glock, it's really just bad aim. Glock can be a little tricky to hit with at long distances, but keep practicing

I've tested it on cl_lw 0. There is no difference all most. Only one - spraypattern looks like a grid. When I just start the server this grid has big size, after 1 hour less size.

May be. I cant say I know the best server rates. This tests were made at default cfg + sv rates:
sv_maxupdaterate 101
sv_minupdaterate 50
sv_maxrate 25000
sv_minrate 5000
sys_ticrate 1000
BUT... Did you test this problem on your HLDS, before posting above?
By the way, I've tested the problem also without spraypattern. With another player just on playerhits. That's why I think, 'cl_lw' at this problem does not metter.
