I'd recommend using this over Elo formula, mostly because as you've said, ELO system is made to be used for 1 versus 1 duels. It's pointless when more than two players are taken into account, because the rating gained is independent on the player's skill, but rather the success of the whole team. Which basically means that one player depends on the success of other players in his team.

I contacted Microsoft and asked them if its allowed to use it. They've said that they have no license system for TrueSkill, so they can't give me permission or the concrete formula. They're open-source implementations of TrueSkill, but it's too hard for me to translate to Pawn.

I also believe that Microsoft allows the usage of TrueSkill as long as the project is non-commercial.
