I think Valve should organize a CS:GO sale .. part of which should go completely to the developer's family.
Valve shouldn't have much problem doing this since CS:GO is bringing a lot of fortune in terms of money to them.

I don't think an april fools joke would be amusing enough to fake a death.

Perhaps valve/hidden path will implement some kind of memorial into csgo as an easter egg. I know that there is a few grave stones models in the game already, and a possible tribute item (coin maybe?) that 100% goes to the Bright family.
