Hello,

i made a server with hlds. On hlds i see this ip address: "169.254.xxx.1:27016". I can connect to it from my pc. However if click view server info, it will show me a different id address: "169.254.xxx.145:27016". And when i try to connect from my other pc (tried both address), it cant find the server. Then i looked up my pc (one that runs server) ip in cmd and i found this "192.168.1.xxx". I can connect to this address. Why is it like that? Bonus info: If i make a server the same way on the other computer, all 3 ip address will be the same.

Most of the ip u see that local IP and nobody cant connect.

U can check you ip adress in https://www.whatismyip.com/ website.

Maybe need some port forwarding also i think.

Okay now i see my local and public ip is different. But how could i join to the server over the internet if i tried to connect to my local ip?

Check hlds command line options, you might be starting server with wrong ip/port.

Use the ip cvar to define which interface will use your server.

Cause you've been connected to one network. The local ip is the ip that your router is working with so you can connect to it if the other PC is linked to the same router. With one word you haven't joined over the internet.
