The USDX is basically completely worthless now as it's weighted 60% against the Euro. You're saying that the dollar is strong, but you're measuring it against a flawed currency. It's really a race to the bottom. Just look at some other currencies -- the US dollar is making multi-year lows against the AUD, NZD and is coming close to a multi-year low against the CAD. The USD is particularly bad against the JPY, where it almost broke an all-time low just a few weeks ago.

But remember, these currencies are all flawed as well. The only real store of wealth now is gold, which has made all-time highs both of the past two days. Check out the chart.

Also remember that the US had its own bailout almost two years ago now, whereas Europe did theirs just a couple of days ago. The US is much further along on the path of destruction. Europe as a whole is still a net creditor and has a trade surplus, whereas the US economy has been worthless and in shambles for a very long time now.
