I need help for my server I only want to change my hlds' ip as im having problems in having my friends connect to the server they are unable to join! I am just a beginner please explain each step!

If you are hosting from home, you need to forward your ports and have them connect from your external IP. There is a bunch of information you can find about this.

If you purchased a server from a game service provider, you need to ask them.

Also check the firewall must be turn off !

That's not entirely true. You should never turn your firewall off completely. You should use settings that allow for that one program.

Find the DMZ settings on your router and enter the local IP address in it (which usually is in the form of 192.168.X.XX), then give your friends the public IP address (use an IP finder to find this). They should be able to connect then.

Do this first and make sure they can connect. Then disable DMZ and use port forwarding to specify which ports to open (DMZ is a security hazard since all ports are open to the world, but port forwarding only allows certain ports to pass through).

This is the step I always take, since if the server isn't accessible even with DMZ enabled, usually something else is improperly configured.

If you're using a VPS or a GSP then you have to ask their support to open the ports for you.
