Hey , I installed Steam and I know how to make a server and everything , I did this many times before but. I can't seem to get my server on the internet. I tried opening the required ports and everything like that but It didn't work. I can't afford a server right now , so I am making this one. I got a lot of cool plugins to work from the Plugins page I would really like for my server to work and people to join .... It works , I can join it but I am not sure players can. So If you can help me please do.

You're behind a router I'm guessing.

With routers you have to make sure the forwarding port(the one that allows traffic outside to get threw a port so they can access, say, a server behind the router), if you pointed it to the wrong pc then it wouldnt work.

On my system I have something like this in my router settings: Internal IP: 192.168.1.100 Internal Port: 27015 External Port: 27015

If your pc is 192.169.1.101 then it wouldnt connect correctly.

Another thing, are you using STEAM-Client DS or HLDSupdate style DS?

You really should use the non-steamclient one. Less buggy ^-^

It's not buggy. Just make sure you start the steam dedicated server witgh th emod once, then put all necessary files in
c:\program files\steam\steam apps\[email protected]\dedicated server\mod\

The directory that they are installed in is I think the only difference

I got a question. Might sound noobish but here it goes. Is there a way to make your server run 24/7 without having to have the Steam Dedicated Server window up?
