As of today's update it seems SetClientName is not functioning correctly. Using it seems to instead despawn the client (team number gets changed to 0) and the name does not change. Playing with it some leads to some weird results like extra sets of distant arm models in view which suggests the offset changed but not in a way that results in a crash or error.
