On a fresh Windows server running only the most recent stable builds of SM/MM and this plugin, I am unable to join the server as it constantly retries, there are also no errors in the server logs or any sign of my attempts to join in the server console.

However, a friend running Linux on some very popular servers runs this plugin with no issues at all.

The only noticeable difference we could think of was the OS. Unfortunately as far as I can tell other similar plugins do not always work correctly when the map is changed via !map.

Im not sure what could be causing the issue but I'd be grateful if could you have a look into it.

Do you have sv_hibernate_when_empty enabled?

That was indeed the cause of the issue, apparently I'd neglected to set that in server.cfg, although I didn't realise it was needed.
