Hello

Im using the latest verision of CS:S DM on my server but something is wrong.
It runs perfectly fine but then it crashes on random!

The server console shows:

NULL Ent in GiveNamedItem!
Attempted to create unknown entity type weapon_
!
NULL Ent in GiveNamedItem!
ED_Alloc: no free edicts
"/home/css/source/core" is not a core dump: File format not recognized
No stack.
/home/css/source/debug.cmds:2: Error in sourced command file:
No frame selected.
email debug.log to [email protected]
Thu Nov 2 18:559 CET 2006: Server restart in 10 seconds

The same thing has happend 7 times so far today and 3 times in 20 mins yesterday. Same thing in the console every time.

Server debug mode says:
----------------------------------------------
CRASH: Thu Nov 2 18:559 CET 2006
Start Line: ./srcds_i686 -console -game cstrike -tickrate 100 +fps_max 600 +map de_dust2 +maxplayers 22 -secure -pingboost 3 -debug
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".
End of Source crash report
----------------------------------------------

I don't have a clue what might be wrong so im thankful for all help.

What other plugins are loaded?
Attach your cssdm.cfg.

Hello Bainopan!
I am a co-admin (Serveradmin) for the Deathmatch server.
We are running:
CSSDM
Stripper
Mani admin
Mattie eventscript (with the CSSDM bot script pack)

The cssdm.cfg is attached.

Personally I feel the server crashes most often when it is quite full. So I am not sure it is crashing because of the CSSDM plugin. Though, Alfred, which I believe is an Valve employe mentioned here:

http://www.opensubscriber.com/messag...om/980952.html

That ED_Alloc: no free edicts means that there are too many entities on the server. Could there perhaps be an bug in the CSSDM code making it crash, related to "enteties".

As I said, I'm not sure this problem is CSSDM related, but ANY help is appriciated dearly.

I believe a number of people have had issues with Mani after yesterdays update. What version are you running? I'm running the following on a Linux box and have no issues:

Mani v1.1.0zi, MM:S v1.3, CS:S DM v0.96, STRP v1.01, Mattie(Bot Scriptpack). And I still don't run Mani as a MetaMod plugin.

Have you tried removing all plugins but CSSDM to see whether the crashes still occur?

Yep, do what LyteFly said. CS:S DM never creates entities and it cleans up entities that drop unless something else interferes.

So disable other plugins until it starts working.

Well, I installed MAP 1.2 on tuesday this week at 10 pm, the first 3 crashes occured 4 hours before that.
The only difference in plugins I have against LyteFly is MAP 1.2 as a MM but the server crashed before the install of it so...
What bastu said isnt entirely correct. On tuesday this week, it crashed 3 times within 20 minutes. First time the server was full, second time there was 12 players and last time there were only six players. So it isnt just when its full.

You said that CS:S DM doesn't create new entities, do you have any idea what might create them?

I'm gonna try disable one plugin at the time to se if it stop crashing and if it stops spamming the console with the weapon entities stuff.

Thanks so far, but still, all you can think of might help me so..

Could this be the fault:

NULL Ent in GiveNamedItem!

Anyways, we have now dissabled all plugins except CSSDM and Mani 1.2. We will report back to you as soon as we know if it helped.

Do I recall correctly that it is you, Bail, that have created the CSSDM and the Stripper plug-in. If so what do you need from me to do a debug?

I guess we will just have to wait for the server to crash. It should in the next 12 hours
