We've had some trouble banning players who change their name often (but not enough to trigger the namechangebanner plugin), and I was wondering if its possible to make a plugin that allows you to ban the player you are following/spectating in the in-game spec mode?

Not via a plugin like Simple Spectate, but the built-in where you can jump between players using mouseclicks.

You can already do this with sm_ban @aim

Also, if they are blocking status output by spamming the status command, issue sm_who. Find the identical SteamIDs, write them down and then wait a few moments. Issue sm_who again and find the SteamID that is the same one from the two before but has a different name.

I've tried using the @aim, and it works .. somewhat, but it is a very hit and miss when spectating.

19 out of 20 I got "No target found" when doing an sm_who @aim while spectating a player, both from "inside the head" and from 3rd person.

Is it possible to extract the player you are actively following somehow? That would make it 100% foolproof.
