Disclaimer: I've never run an hlds server, only srcds servers.

Is this happening on both the Windows and Linux versions of the server?

If this is a widespread problem, it'd be a good idea if someone who is having the problem report it on the hlds mailing list or email Alfred Reynolds directly and see if he can tell you what's going on.

Side note: Alfred Reynolds is responsible for all the recent hlds activity, including the March 5 and 6 crash fix updates.

Edit: It has occurred to me that the version issue may only happen on the Windows version because the Linux version is now one version newer due to the March 6th update (which didn't affect the Windows version).

Currently I'm running all my servers on my PC (windows x64). Before I buy a hosting, i wanna be sure that all servers work perfectly and same with plugins.

Anyone have this problem on linux?

^ as of my knowledge, this is only happening to the Steam servers, i.e. the servers which we create using Dedicated Server from Steam tools. It doesn't happens in standalone servers (which are installed through hldsupdatetool). So I'm sure same is the case with Linux servers too.

I even tried to downgrade my dedicated server.gcf to an old build, and disabled "always keep this tool up to date" even then it updated it. ffffffuuuuuuuu

Same to me too. I think it only happen on hlds that running with Steam platform, Standalone hlds doesn't have this issue.

this is the problem of getting the steam support.
they are only interested in making money with new games.
are not concerned to give help and support, never respond
e-mail and do not care about anyone.

if they were concerned with the most players using the steam,
(Players that are counter-strike)
would have been manifested.

what remains is to change the no-steam server and use
setmaster alternative that works properly.
