Displaying a Menu on right side of screen?

Is it possible to display a menu on the right side of the screen? It would solve alot of problems for me.

The only way I can think of is to show_menu with no text in it, then directly after show a hudmessage that never disappears. When the person presses a button, send a hud message on the same channel as the menu appeared on, which will make it disappear.
