Not entirely true from my tests. HLDS works the same on either windows or Linux.

Stock Debian 9 runs it at ~930 fps. More than enough in my opinion.

I've seen hostings run servers at ~1050+ fps on Windows. Anyway from my experience I've run server on Ubuntu on ~850 fps. Doesn't go upper than that. (Appreciate if someone can help me make it up, for now I have just default plugins in server. Using Rehlds and pingboost -2)

Anything above 1000 fps throws off the bullet registration. It will count it as headshots when you aim at feet.

What is your process priority and the process timer for HLDS under Ubuntu? Changing it to real time and increasing priority helps in most cases.

It may or may not help. That would have been true in the past, but stock kernels that come with current distros are really good. You may see a gain of 10 fps at the very most.

Not true about 1000 fps in my case. I've seen it works fine because I manage servers on that game hosting. The process priority was default (0) Okay So I've tried changing process to real time and increasing priority the FPS just boosts upto 20+. I've been searching about boosting FPS and seen about kernels. Will try compiling it if I can.
