but their creators go way overboard thinking it stops all hacks when it just stops normal players little tweaks
It's the little tweaks that are sometimes the hardest to catch.( with just the admins eye)

I can't say I can see an admin tool coming along that is designed to deal with players' binds. This is simply because public servers all run different rules, most people usually just concern themselves with the rates people are running.

In a match environment you simply have to be vigilant as that is the only scenario that i can think of where it is specifically stated in a league's rules that such binds are not allowed (leagues don't tend to be fond of the scroll wheel bind for attack, especially in pistol rounds).

At the end of the day, if you don't like what someone is running script wise you have the option just to kick or ban them anyway, after all, your server, your rules and it's not like there is a shortage of servers to play on.

I used to be 100% with Cheating-Death. Our Server used it. We seldom had a full Server but hey... the ones that were in there were on a level playing field. If Cheating Death is made better Than VAC we may revert Back to it.

Hlguard and Cheating-Death = 1 deadly combo against Hacks and unfair scripts.

Oh well we cant even seem to get Source_mod and Vac. Surely Hlg and Cheating-Death are out of the question. The guys over at UnitedAdmins are working on CD for Source. All they will say about a release date is sometime in 2005.

Same for Vac. They say In the Near future.

Source_mod, Sometime in 2005.
This was posted after you brought Vac into the thread. I have Typed the word Vac in the Steam forums till I am blue on the fingertips. Sure Vac is gonna rock. They have had plenty of time to get it right. Oh and it will not be called Vac2 it is simply Vac for Source

Following this whole 'discussion' is getting frustrating up to
the point where I just couldn't resist not posting anymore.

Reading back to the first page, we find:

Maybe reread that last line a few times:

What this guy was originally asking for, seems to be a plugin
that counters Wall-hacks, Aimbots and the likes.
The only mistake he made was mentioning HLGuard as an
example of the kind of plugin he wanted, as that's where
people started making false assumptions.

This whole discussion about scripts is hardly relevant as there
is not a single mentioning of scripts-scanning in the initial post.
All the guy is asking for is a not too unreasonable plugin to help
get rid of Wall-hackers and Aimbot-users.

From what I've read this should well be possible, except noone
has yet taken on the challenge of actually building it.
So: Is anyone building or planning on making a plugin that scans
for Aimbot and Wallhack use?

If so please post here so the first guy's question will be answered.
If not someone please try to make such a plugin and release it for
all of us to use / change / add to.

Best regards,
Tim

I think Vance's idea is by far the best for an anti-aimbot/wallhack thing. No machine can positively identify such a hack (without searching for files), so I say give the admin some sweet little tools that work in spectator mode.
