Hello all, I am having a issue with some player's being able to join our DOD:S even though they are properly on the banned_user.txt . The said player was identified then through admin menu banned "permanently" again after which the player immediately rejoined with the same SteamID. This happened twice in a row with the same player.

Action taken:

Checked banned_user.txt (Correct)
Restarted server
Tested Banning process with another account (worked)

Does anyone have any idea's , Is this maybe a glitch of some sort's or a client manipulations? (Player is not "above" that sort of thing)

You need to have "exec banned_user.cfg" in your server.cfg

Yup it's already there. Other players have not been able to join again , I haven't figured out why this specific player can.

Maybe you banned him by IP and he has a dynamic IP.

That is a possibility but in this case the players SteamID was already in the banned_user.cfg. It's really odd.

banned_user.cfg needs "777" permissions to function right. The mentioned permissions means READ,WRITE,EXECUTE for OWNER,GROUP,PUBLIC; full permissions for all. With an FTP Client you can tell it to set them. If you're on *NIX, cd to the folder and execute chmod 777 banned_user.cfg and you're done

I saw a metamod plugin that protects against an exploit that clients can take advantage of by joining a game without their steam id being validated, allowing them to stick around in the server for as long as they want. You might want to take a look at that, although since it sounds like you banned his/her IP as well this sounds like the likely problem Sorry if I didn't help :S
