If this is about the other deleted thread it was not about freedom of speech. As the name of the community says, we are allied modders. Politics, religion, etc is against the forum goal. We do not care what other user’s political opinion is, there are places for such discussions and this forum is not one of them. And no, i didn’t delete the thread because i am anti-trump, after all i am a right wing supporter. But i won’t take exceptions for my private life choices.

Programmers vs AI

The next generation of programmers is going to be the dumbest. And now I'll explain why. For one to become a good programmer, what does he have to do? Programming, programming and programming.

These generations, what they started to do less is programming. And why? Because there is ChatGPT, there is Cloud, there is Gemini, there is, you know, any tool with artificial intelligence that basically does the programming to them.

And what are these people doing? They are practically writing a prompt. It returns a code, you copy it, paste it, and if it works, it leaves it there. You don't have to read it, you don't have to understand why it works like that, it just works perfect, let's leave it like that.

And I don't know if you see what the problem is with this, but I do see a huge problem. For example, before we stopped first to understand the problem, then to think about it, then to do different tests to see if it worked, and so we managed to create features.

But as now literally you just have to write a prompt,
What are we becoming experts in? Are we becoming experts in programming or in creating prompts? And if people get used to just doing prompts and sticking to the code, then what's going to happen?

That critical reasoning that programming gave them, they're not going to have it anymore, because literally right now they're leaving the responsibility to artificial intelligence and you just watch it because things work and the better these artificial intelligence are, believe me, the panorama is going to be worse. And what do you think?

AI is a problem for this generation as it provides too much false information. Chatgpt is caught lying very often, specially about sources. The learning algorithm is awesome but it is meant to be used for data or to make long duration easy tasks quickly. Remember that AI is also the same when we make on plugins, the difference is the complex data processing and a huge database.
