Hey guys. I am having trouble installing the IRC relay chat version 0.82 on my Windows based server from Evolans.com. I installed MM to "/addons/metamod" and I installed IRC Relay to "/addons/metamod/ircrelay" and here is my cfg file. I edited all the comments to save time.

Quote:
[Main]
# IRC server to connect to
Server="irc.black-cell.net"
Port=6667

# If the IRC server requires a password, set it here
Password=""

# Channel to relay messages to
Channel="#ch2"

# IRC nick/user/name
Nick="CH2_REVIS"
User="69-12-11-200"
Name="IRC Relay"

ConnectCommand="/NickServ identify password_I_use_for_the_bot"

CommandCharacter=!

FloodProtection=0

[Permissions]
help=n
about=n
players=n
playerinfo=n
gameinfo=n
netinfo=n
say=v
emote=v
kick=h
ban=o
unban=o
rcon=o
cexec=o
page=h
cvar=h
I also put the command "meta load addons/metamod/ircrelay/bin/ircrelay_mm" inside my autoexec.cfg file.

Finally, I added ircrelay plugin in the metamod ini as this
Quote:
addons/metamod/ircrelay/bin/ircrelay_mm
I am using IRC Relay version 0.82 and Metamod Version Source version 1.3d

And finally my problem. I don't know why, but my bot does not seem to want to connect the the black-cell.net IRC network, or any for that matter. I tried to connect to GameSurge with a register name and it would not connect. I don't know if it's even getting to the IRC server at all. Any help?

I believe the problem is that you need to put it in addons/ircrelay, rather than addons/metamod/ircrelay.

That's the problem. Thanks. I thought I would seperate all the plugins in the metamod folder and I guess that is not a good idea Thanks a lot man. It doesn't seem to cause lag at all! We're messing with the config now to get it just where we need it We have a 24 man 33 tick server, a 16 man 100 tick server and a 20 man 100 tick server. We hope to have this running on all the server asap!

For some reason, the bot will not auto op in the server once it connects.

Here is my connect line (tested in the IRC channel so I know it works).

"/nickserv identify password_I_use"
using these names
Nick="CH2_REVIS"
User="CH2_REVIS"
Name="CH2_REVIS"

When I run the AOP list for the channel I get this result
-ChanServ- 1 CH2
-ChanServ- 2 CH2_REVIS
-ChanServ- 3 CH3

When I try logging in to the server with the bot while on my computer, it AOP fine. Because I registered the bot on my computer, do you think the server doesn't allow the bot to sign in because I registered the name on my IP? If this is the case, in the ConnectCommand, can I run the register command to the server instead of an identify command? Then I could AOP it in the server and change the register command to the identify command.

Thanks for the help again. I know I ask a lot of questions.

Sorry I have to answer a post from an earlier post in this thread. "I am very sorry.. ran into a few bugs I don't have time to fix as I have exams this week.. going to relax/study (although they don't really go together o_O)."

You know you're a programmer when you're forum of relaxation is studying!

No, trust me.. I only study when I have to. My form of relaxation is more of sipping on imports and watching soccer (or playing).

For the connect command, try removing the forwardslah (/) from the beginning.

works great man! Thanks once again!

I was looking around on my server and found that I still had "meta load addons/metamod/ircrelay/bin/ircrelay_mm" edited out in my autoexe config file. The bot seems to work fine without it. Did you discontinue this function or will this cause some lag with the server?

Is there a way to view who sent an rcon command ingame? For instance, a player in game uses the rcon command bot_add. Is there a way to view this command in IRC. Maybe something like User: console - command.

Is there something like this in there now? Is this even possible?

Sorry to be such a royal pain in the neck! It's what I do best

At this time it cannot show rcon commands used by players, but it is a good idea and hope to implement this feature in the future.
