Update:

1.5.5
- Changed the bot allow cvars (as requested by LTR.2) so you can specify which items bots auto give/grab.

Would it be possible to use similar methods to make bots pick up and carry scavenge gascans (and pour gas or throw near gas target)? I find scavenge/scavenge-style finales tedious to play with bot allies due to the fact that they dont help carry gascans (especially when 2 are right next to each other). Hopefully the AI doesnt go nuts when it finds itself carrying one though .

Throwing grenades would be nice too, but figuring out when/where to throw would be troublesome. Although perhaps it could be set to only detect a few specific situations (i.e. tank in line-of-sight and not burning), order one bot to point at target, switch to slot 3, and attack.

Plugin updated, I would recommend everyone who uses to update.

1.5.6
- Added cvar 'l4d_gear_transfer_modes_off' to turn off the plugin on certain game modes.
- Fixed deleting grenade spawns which give infinite items.

New feature request:

In Left 4 Dead 1 the survivor bots doesn't picks up items until somebody shoots. This bug is fixed in L4D2, but Valve will never fix it in L4D1 . I saw, you fixed the medkit and pain pills pickups for bots in this (Gear Transfer) plugin. Thanks.

In Left 4 Dead 1, the bots almost never picks up ammo. Especially in finales. (Because the zombies always coming and someone always shoot.) So could you put a fix for this bug into the Gear Transfer plugin?

If a survivor bot goes near to an ammo stack, replenish his primary ammo.

I have a request. Can we switch gear with other human survivors? Perhaps require both players to hold the gear in hand and hold the reload key while looking at each other.

@dcx2: I created a weapon switch plugin in January, but it needs work/re-write.

Gear Transfer has been updated to accommodate the Footlocker Spawner plugin, which will be updated shortly once I'm happy with the testing.

Hi Silvers, thanks for the reply.

I wasn't thinking specifically about weapon switching. Let's say I have some pills and my buddy has a shot. If we wanted to trade temp health, we'd need to use a bot intermediary (if they are alive/not down), or we'd have to use a different plugin to drop our temp health and hope the bots didn't pick it up. That's what I meant by gear switching. I'm far more interested in swapping grenades and temp health.

I can see how the weapon switching would provide a framework for swapping other items, though, I just wanted to make sure my request was clear.

In Gear Transfer 1.5.6, when survivors transferred items each other, they sometimes said different pick-up lines twice in a row. For example, when coach got pills, you could see the captions like this:

Coach: I know one thing, I'm grabbing pills.
Coach: I got the pills!

But mere second line could hear. Was this improved in version 1.5.7?

The only changes in 1.5.7 was the firing of certain events when bots auto grab the items. I've not heard them say stuff twice, maybe it does not need the vocalizations code?
