Because I can't notice any changes to the weapons visually, I've also tried using "preserve_attributes" "1", as it was suggested in one of the posts.
I don't think that effect #5 is actually any effect, try with 14.0 (scorching flames).
The effect should attach to the weapon, also remember you can't "paint" weapons.
"preserve_attributes" is used only when you have to add/change a weapon's attribute(s) without touching the others or having to re-write the entire list of attributes.

Hurr. Not sure about the wildcard.
Did you try with one weapon only?

Have you been rejoining the server between these attempts, or just reloading the config file and respawning? Particle changes generally only take effect when you join the server (Valve issue, not TF2Items). Also, they are sometimes not visible in 1st person, but taunting generally shows them.

(P.S. Don't use the weapon wildcard without "preserve-attributes", or you'll break all the unlocks.)

I'm pretty sure both colors and effects change as soon as you touch a resupply locker
And yes, remember to reload the config

This is how i've been doing it: I used tf2items_manager_reload, and always rejoined the server I also tried changing the map.

No problem, and it's unlikely that the effects will show on the viewmodel, I remember trying them on some weapons and they only showed up in 3rd person

Valve removed particle effects showing up on viewmodel after they tried out the Valve Eyelander and the fire blocked half the screen.

Just a bit of trivia.

Color effects will change if you touch a locker ONLY IF IT IS A HAT. If it's a weapon, you have to reload, then swap classes, then back. OnGive doesn't fire for weapons if you just touch a locker or respawn.

Edit: I think I got it now lol! (was on my lunch break and not taking my time)

Do you have to add a line to add an effect? If so can anyone enlighten me?
