I wish I could switch off the public variables for the SM plugins I'm running - how would I go about that?
That's really odd.. I'm not sure why XFire even retrieves the server variables.. all the info they need is in other query types.

HLSW has done this for me sometimes too. Then I assumed it was a plugin that screwed it up, but sure it could have been the amount of variables too. I simply removed all extra plugins and now using the most vitals one and all is working.

Just what I thought but apparently some advanced some custom infoviews can be made to display the public variables.

A hidden Xfire feature ;)

Hi!
Baliopan, could you please set it up to have a cfg file that lists the public vars to block, and a in-game command to block / unblock specific vars?

It would be nice to get rid of some of these unused vars that valve displays that we don't use. ( r_Jeep...,r-Airboat... etc.. )

Thanks!

I've attached a small plugin. You need r1165+ to run it as it uses a new feature (the build should be available in the next hour).

You just list cvars in addons/sourcemod/configs/hiddencvars.txt and they will stop appearing, like:
Code:
botcount
coop
mp_maxrounds
I highly recommend not turning off big cvars like sourcemod_version, metamod_version, mani's cvar, etc, because we use those to track usage statistics.
Attached Files
File Type: sp Get Plugin or Get Source (cvarhider.sp - 1028 views - 2.8 KB)

the X-Fire devs should re-read this: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Server_Queries

I asked Alfred to clarify Source's multi-packet system and he updated the wiki page. They need to do some decompression.
