I have the same problem, I've installed everything and added the first line to gameinfo.txt

my read out says

As http://wiki.alliedmods.net/Installing_Metamod:Source explains, GameInfo.txt is not needed anymore, just use the VDF. If you have both, maybe that's why it's trying to load it twice.

There's a good reason why metaversion doesn't do anything, and it's probably because it's meta version.
